Senator Jay Costa is a shareholder and member of the Business Transactions practice group. Having represented Pennsylvania's 43rd senatorial district since 1996, Jay brings valuable government experience to his law practice. His areas of concentration include public finance, municipal law, government, education law, workers' compensation, trusts and estates, wills and general civil law.
Jay has served as the Democratic Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee since 2009. He also serves on the Senate Judiciary, Legislative Budget and Finance, Public Health and Welfare and the Rules and Executive Nominations Committees.
Prior to his election to the Senate, Jay served five years as Register of Wills in Allegheny County.
