Senator Jay Costa is a shareholder and member of the Business Transactions practice group. Having represented Pennsylvania's 43rd senatorial district since 1996, Jay brings valuable government experience to his law practice. His areas of concentration include public finance, municipal law, government, education law, workers' compensation, trusts and estates, wills and general civil law.
Jay has served as Democratic Caucus Chairman since 2005. He also serves as Democratic chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and is a member of the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee. His other committee assignments include Public Health and Welfare, Transportation and Senate Democratic Policy.
Prior to his election to the Senate, Jay served five years as Register of Wills in Allegheny County.
