Joe Macerelli has been a shareholder and member of the firm's board of directors since 1986. He also chairs the firm’s Professional Liability practice group. Joe is an experienced trial attorney and concentrates his practice in the areas of medical negligence and professional liability defense. He has successfully defended numerous physicians, hospitals and other health care providers in a variety of complex cases.
Joe currently serves as Assistant Treasurer on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. He was also recently installed as President of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.
His commitment to community service is further exemplified by his service as Board Chairman at Canonsburg General Hospital and as a director of the West Penn Allegheny Health System. He is also a board member of the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Letter Club and was elected a 2002 Awardee of Distinction.
Joe was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2005, 2006 and 2007. Considered among the best in their profession, Super Lawyers represent the top 5% of practicing attorneys in Pennsylvania.
