Our attorneys have represented both private businesses and governmental bodies in environmental law and land use matters. We are often called upon to investigate the environmental condition of real estate which the client desires to purchase or sell. This work involves initial determination of the appropriate level of environmental study; review of experts' reports and findings and search of public records to assess the condition of the property; and recommendations regarding identified environmental risks and remedial work necessary to avoid such risks.
Our attorneys also assist public and private clients in meeting water polution control mandates of federal, state and local environmental protection agencies.
In addition, we have often worked with our Litigation practice group in the defense of hazardous waste and toxic tort litigation, as well as environmental claims involving administrative and governmental agencies.
